About Melissa Dentino

Melissa joined Durrett and David in 2022, bringing with her over 18 years of experience in insurance and risk management consulting.

She began her career at State Farm, as an auto claims representative in 2004, and quickly moved through the ranks into the role of Leadership Development Associate; where she managed and trained teams of claim adjusters in automobile, homeowners, and commercial liability litigated claims. Melissa also worked many CAT events such as hurricanes Katrina and Ike, Superstorm Sandy, California wildfires, and midwestern hailstorms.

Melissa left State Farm in 2012 and transitioned to commercial account management, specializing in workers compensation, professional liability, cyber liability, property and casualty, and employment liability. Her commercial account management experience led to her most recent role as a Corporate Risk and Insurance Consultant for Harris Beach; a large law firm, with offices throughout the New York and tri-state area. At Harris Beach, Melissa was considered the insurance subject matter expert and consulted for firm clients. She was a critical member of the incident response and business continuity teams, helping with cyber, business interruption, liability, and property losses.

Melissa graduated from SUNY Fredonia in 2004, with a bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies. She recently earned her PMP certification and holds her ARM and AIC insurance designations.

In her free time, Melissa stays busy by attempting to keep up with her young daughter (and not so young husband) and cheering on her beloved Buffalo Bills.
